POOFS, RUFFLES AND BELLS, OH MY!

Krys wearing her Micha Lounge bell sleeve sweater in Soho.

Today my family and I took a trip down to Soho for Sunday brunch and shopping. My favorite parts of living in New York City are the people watching, the great restaurants and the energy! Soho is just about the most stylish neighborhood in the city with plenty of cool shops, so I felt like dressing myself and the girls up a little bit. I have been dying to wear my new Micha Lounge bell sleeve sweater and I bought a cute ruffle detail sweater for Blake that I couldn’t wait for her to wear either.

If you haven’t jumped on the statement sleeve bandwagon yet, now is the time! These poofs, ruffles and bell sleeves are a great way to add an extra flare (pun intended) to any outfit! The added volume totally takes your outfit up a few notches. If you feel like you are not ready for a giant bell sleeve, which I wasn’t until recently, start off with a less dramatic flute sleeve or some nice ruffle detailing on the sleeves. There are plenty of options to fit anyone’s personal style!

Sleeve interest isn’t just for knits either, sweatshirts are seeing some action too, making it easy to put a super chic outfit together while still giving you the coziness that only a sweatshirt can! This makes me so happy because if you know me, you know I live in sweatshirts, so any chance I can wear them in a way that doesn’t look couch potato-y is great for me!

With trends like these I definitely prefer to purchase more cost-effective versions since you never really know how long they are going to last! And if you are wondering if it's hard to fit those big bell sleeves into your jacket- it is! Totally worth it though!

Are you guys feeling the whole statement sleeve trend? Let me know in the comments below.

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Stylist!
